THOMAS WINTERS

Thomas R. Winters Korean War vet, retired from Hillside Board of Education Thomas R. Winters, 87, of Linden, N.J., formerly of Hillside, N.J., died on March 2, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Sylvia (Madurski) Winters; devoted father of Jayme Winters, Jolene Knapp and her husband, Tom, and Roxann Banek and her husband, Mark; brother of Edward Winters; and loving grandfather of Vincent, Amanda, Rachelle and Eryn. Tom was a Korean War veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hillside. He was employed by the Hillside Board of Education for 13 years before retiring in 2004. Visitation will be held at the Growney Funeral Home (growneyfuneralhome), 1070 North Broad St., Hillside, N.J. 07205 on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 3 to 5:30 p.m., with a service at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Disabled Veterans would be appreciated.
