I'm so sorry to hear about Jack. He was such a strong person who loved his family more than anything. It's never easy to lose a parent especially one who loved so much. I'm very sorry for all of you.

CSAKY, Tibor "Jack," 77, of Richmond, ended his battle with cancer on March 18, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Nurmi Csaky; a son, Scott Csaky and his wife, Christi; a son, Christopher Csaky; a daughter, Beth Csaky Cornwell and her husband, Steve; a daughter, Jennifer Csaky; two granddaughters, Taylor Csaky and Alexandra Csaky; and four grandsons, Noah, Matthew, Quinn and Hayden Cornwell. Jack is also survived by his two brothers, Ernoe Csaky and his wife, Sharon, and Steve Csaky and his wife, Lou Stafford; and his sister-in-law, Karen Anderson. Born in Pecs, Hungary on April 30, 1933, Jack was the son of Fred and Gizella Csaky. Along with his family, he left Hungary at age 12 to escape the Soviet Army on its way to Hungary. The family walked to Germany and lived there for five years before coming to the United States in 1950. During those years, Jack and his family worked on a farm and he did not receive any formal education. Despite these hardships he earned a bachelor's degree in advertising and business from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1962. Before this he joined the United States Air Force and was a member from 1953 to 1957. The most important thing in Jack's life was his family. He gave more of himself to others than he ever asked for in return. As a young father he loved coaching soccer. Jack's favorite place to be was the Outer Banks, where he loved to fish and relax with his family. He was most proud of his Hungarian background; and the love he had for growing vegetables and for cooking was a gift he learned from his mother. Jack was a strong and resilient man and a cherished father and husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BARK, Bandit's Adoption & Rescue of K-9s. Donations will be accepted by mail, with checks payable to BARK, in memory of Jack Csaky, or online at barkva.org. The Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 25 at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Midlothian. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Dear Friends, I went to St. Edward's for the funeral of a dear friend and stopped in the chapel to see the cross that was hung from the funeral of another dear friend in January and I ran across Jack's cross. I was shocked to hear that he was gone. Know that you have always been and remain in my thoughts and prayers daily. Know that you are each very dear to my heart and my memory. I pray that memories of better days and our shared faith will bring you each great comfort in this difficult...

Scott and Family, I am sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. I will always remember his kindness (and sternness...specially during our BHS "outings") and his wonderful stories on how he escaped the Nazis. Thoughts and prayers for you!
