Tillman E. Smith

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Smith as a Chemistry teacher in the mid-1980's. At the end of each class, he would give us study time. During these, Mr. Smith would work on the side lab benches creating an "experiment" that usually involved fire or explosions. I particularly enjoyed Mr. Smith wry smile. Condolences to the family for your loss. Mr. Smith made a positive impact on some many young lives.

Many thoughts about Tillman but the first to come to mind is his chemistry classes at Greenfield-Central. His ventilation was not the best and he would frequently fill the building with some foul smell as he was impressing the students with his chemistry knowledge. Kind of the "mad scientist" mode. If you wanted to have an extended conversation, get him talking about clocks and clock repair.
