SWINNEY, Tilmon “Tim” - Of Burton, age 87, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his residence.



 



Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,



 



Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.



 



Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.



 



Contributions may be made to American Heart Association.



 



Visitation 2-8pm Thursday and 12pm Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.



                       



Tilmon was born in Phil Campbell on August 1, 1931, the son of the late Joe and Lela Swinney. Tim was a proud member of UAW Local #659 and he frequented the Burton Senior Center. He was an avid gardener and a loving grandfather.



 



Surviving are children, Darlene Swinney, Dwayne Swinney, and Sandy (John) Babcock;



 



Grandchildren, Kyle Swinney, Adam Swinney, Jonathan (Cassy) Babcock, and Taylor (LJ Brownlee) Babcock;



 



Great-grandchildren, Jaxon Swinney, and Jeremy Babcock;



 



Siblings, Marcine, Laura and Joyce;



 



And many nieces, nephews and cousins.



 



He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie and his other siblings.

Tim will be greatly missed at the Burton Senior Center. He was always a kind gentleman, good sport and had a special smile. Our sincere condolences for your great loss.

Tim was a great neighbor. He will be well remembered and greatly missed.

So sorry for your families loss. Tilmon was a wonderful man who loved his family more than anything. He was my second dad since I was 8 years old now 72. Will miss him but have lots of memories
