TIMOTHY BAKER BLODGETT

Hearing of Tim's death only now, I want to say a word about how well I remember him from Williams and how faithful he was as a correspondent over the years. We shared an interest in literature all those years and he was a warm support to me in my own writing. He took the trouble to keep in touch with many members of our 1951 class and through him I was able to correspond with a few of these. Tim and Becky were dear friends for decades. After leaving Concord I stayed with them many times. On my last visits Tim graciously shared his office with me so that I would not have to climb stairs.
He was always an avid reader and shared books he thought I would enjoy. He will be missed by many especially members of First Parish and his loving children.
Sarah, Amy. Jeff & Katie, my love to you. I share your grief.

I only met Tim somewhat recently when he came to visit with my Aunt Claiborne. We had 2 1/2 action packed days of exploring, and he did it all - wouldn't have missed a moment.

We had some lovely conversations and a wonderful time getting to know one another.

Although I'm sorry not to have met him sooner, I am glad I had the time I did.

Thank-you for sharing the reading list link. I did not know Mr. Blodgett but inadvertently came across his obituary and was intrigued when I saw the link published. Truly, an amazing summary of how important reading was to him. Anyone who has a love of books, will appreciate the effort required to not only have read what he did, but to have created this list. My condolences to his loved-ones for what appears to be a life well-lived. And thank-you once again for sharing.

"Was the piece Timmed yet?" We knew it could not possibly be ready for publication until it had passed through his hands. Always came back improved, as did you from the experience. A warm, intelligent, calming presence. When he got impatient, you knew an important moral principle had been violated. A privilege to work with him, and know him.
