Timothy Eugene "Tim" Gibson, 56, former employee of Gibson Brothers Scrap Metal and Parkview Manor Apartments, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late James Willard Gibson and the late Frances Juanita Bates Gibson. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman. He loved people and no one was a stranger to Tim. He will be missed by family and many friends. Survivors include his wife whom he married August 28, 1987, Jill Collins Gibson of Columbia; daughters, Gracie Gibson (Dustin Lay) and Ashley Fenwick; grandchildren, Elyzabeth Lay, Kelsey Gibson, Korbin Gibson; daughter-in-law, Nelia Gibson; sisters, Vickie (Chuck) Williams, Pam (Brian) Perkins, Lisa Melheim; brother, Larry (Lori) Gibson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy L. Gibson; and brother, Jimmy Gibson. Active pallbearers will be Larry Gibson, James Stewart, Donald Hay, Tre Whitaker, Colby Sparks, Andrew Prince, Marty Williamson, Doyle Lay, and Jesus Hernandez.

There are too many memories to share one, but I will try. I have known Tim all his life. He was my younger brother. The very first memory I have of tim is the day Mama and Daddy brought him home from hospital. I was 4 years old. Mama held him for me to see. He was wrapped in a baby blanket and his face was lit up from the fireplace burning. I kept looking at him and thinking...how small he was and his little nose so cute.
