Honaker Funeral Home, Inc. - Slidell Obituary

Timothy Hall Hoke, known to family and friends as Timmy, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the age of 44. He was born on February 24, 1974 in Gulfport, MS to Timothy Hoke and Cindy Bryant Hoke. Timmy is survived by his parents and his siblings; Chris Hoke (Amanda), Brad Hoke, and Tiffany Hoke Herting (Chris). He is also survived by his nephew/godchild (Cohen Hoke), nieces (Bailey & Kayden Hoke, Kinlee & Saylor Herting), and his godchild Holly Kliebert; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. Timmy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ambrosia “Joey” Garcia, Doris Glaser Garcia, and Phyllis Hoke.

A native of New Orleans, Timmy attended Visitation of Our Lady and Brother Martin High School where he graduated with honors in the Class of 1992. He later served as Staff Sergeant in our U.S. Air Force before he was honorably discharged in 2009. Following his service to our country, Timmy went on to pursue his dream of becoming an actor earning roles in box office hits such as Now You See Me (2013), The Campaign (2012), Focus (2015); popular TV series including Star-Crossed, Suit Up 2, and NCIS New Orleans; and local television commercials.   He can still be seen today on the infamous Morris Bart Commercials!   Additionally, he played a pivotal part in training various cast members on character and scene analysis, improvisation, cold reading, and auditioning.

Timmy had many talents and greatly enjoyed watching and playing volleyball, golf, football, and all things sports, especially LSU.   Those who knew him could always count on Timmy for a wisecrack and a good joke to make you laugh. He will forever be remembered by friends, family, and loved ones as a man with deep passion and commitment who lived and served those around him. His energetic approach to life touched and inspired so many over the years, which is why he will be so deeply missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with us as we celebrate Timmy’s life on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West in Slidell. Visitation will begin at 9:00am, followed by funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will be in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Road, Slidell, LA 70460. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Timothy to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/en) or honor his memory by having masses said in his name.

Not sure what to say?

What a great loss 2 his family & 2 the world. Tim was my roommate 4 many years. I wrote on Tim's Facebook page.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Tim's passing. I worked with him at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia for a couple years. We also played together on our unit's soccer team. We lost touch as both of us moved on. Ironically, I received a message from him out of the blue in July 2018 as I was nearing the summit of Mount Fuji. We vowed to catch up. He definitely had a passion for life and a personality large enough to fill any room. Going to miss you...

I came here looking for Neil Hoke. He was 92. I found Timmy and would like to Pay Respect. .. Rest in Peace Timmy.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Prayers will continue for family through this time of loss.
