tim was a hero of mine growing up.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Tim Hosley and I met at Carver High School, where we we both played basketball and football. He was a very good friend and a gifted athlete.I was working on my Ph.D. at the University of Toldeo, when to my complete surprise I saw him on television playing baseball for the Detroit Tigers. I was flushed with pride, and boasted for some time to all of my friends that a former Carver Tiger has made it to the major leagues.
We only saw each other a few times after his baseball career --once on...

My deep sympathy and prayers go out to Tim's wife, daughters, family and friends.

Tim and I played one season together in 1978 in Vancouver, BC for the AAA team of the A's, the Vancouver Canadians. Tim was nearing the end of his career and I was a 24 yr old, on the way up. Tim and I were both catchers, but Tim made it clear he wanted to support me and help me get to the big leagues.
