After his mother died in a car accident when he was 2, Timothy J. Sutton quickly pitched in to help his widower dad. "He was a great big support for me," Phil Sutton said. "Once he got old enough to realize what was going on and all the problems in my life, he stepped up and picked a role and said, ''Here''s what we need to do. The past is gone, and you can''t change it. Just go on with life.'' " Sutton, 22, of Springfield, Mo., died July 11 in Baghdad when his vehicle hit a land mine. He was assigned to Fort Carson. The 2001 high school graduate had spent two years studying drafting and design at Ozarks Technical Community College before joining the Army. "The artist''s eye _ he had that gift," said Richard Faber, a computer-aided drafting instructor at the college. "He turned out to be one of my best students." Sutton''s first tour in Iraq ended in May 2004, giving him time to get married and teach his new wife, Angela, one of his favorite pastimes _ hunting. "He was a fun-loving person, very easy to get along with. He''d bend over backwards to do whatever he could for you to try to help you out," said his father.
In two days it will be the anniversary of a day I will never forget. I can still hear your giggle and see those crystal blue eyes. I miss you. Your dad and I talked about you yesterday. I did not imagine how quickly the time goes by. I sure wish I could see you, hear you laugh, eat cashew chicken, and just catch up. Well, until that day, just know you are missed and still loved!

Hey buddy, we had a patriotic service at church this morning and it's gotten to me all day so figured this would be the closest I could get to talking to you. I have a 3 year old now that's pretty crazy right...we went by your grave for memorial day and she kept asking why I was crying. I keep thinking all the fun things you could teach her that would drive Emily crazy I do my best to do that but never hurts to have back up. Also just realized this could go on forever, so I'll just sum it...

TJ I still am amazed at all the people who's life you touched in some way. All the people who still take time to remember you. And all the tears still shed over the loss of you.

TJ! "Big Red!" I always think of you and that day. I remember when I used to borrow movies from you. Lol... I remember I cut out a Big Red gum wrapper and taped it to your locker. Lol! I thought you´d be pissed, but you laughed and told me to leave it there because you thought it was funny. You´re a great guy, Big Red. I miss you.
