Kane, 61, a resident of LeClaire, formerly of Long Grove, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, in Long Grove. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday (Today) from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church. Tim died peacefully, Saturday, June 18, 2011, at his home in LeClaire, surrounded by his family. Halligan–McCabe–DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Timothy Joseph Kane was born January 16, 1950, in Davenport, the son of Charles and Mary “Esther (O’Brien) Kane. He was united in marriage to Sue Wood on January 18, 1985, at Danforth Chapel in Iowa City, Iowa. Tim was a video producer, traveling around the world filming documentaries for various non-profit organizations. He worked tirelessly to create memorable and captivating cinematic adventures, always making fast friends along the way. However, for as much as he traveled, what he loved most was spending time with Sue (Mrs. Kane) and his three children (Buck, Mugsy, and Chasman) at home. He loved to conquer any challenge, running marathons with his best friend Bernie, living in the Alaskan wilderness, canoeing on the Mississippi against the southern winds, and running his own business. Just last year he moved to live along the Mississippi River, a dream he had had for many years. Tim’s humor and enormous heart will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice Care or the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Tim’s family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Sy and his amazing staff. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 26 years, Sue and their children; sons Alex and Charlie Kane, LeClaire, and daughter Meghan (Mark) Jamison, North Liberty; his brothers, Michael Kane and John (Linda) Kane (nephew and niece Michael and Katie); and his sisters, Veronica Kane (nephews and nieces Jeffrey, Phil, Genevieve, and Augusta) and Rosemary (Dennis) Butler (nephew Ryan). He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, John and Norma Wood; sister-in-law Ann (Andrew) Goldman (nephews Reeder and Jack); and brother-in-law Jim (Pam) Wood (niece Jessica). Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Esther.
