A Dapper Throwback
The youngest of five children and the last to leave home, Timothy C. Kelly cultivated a taste for the chivalry and silk handkerchiefs of his parents' generation. "He was a man who enjoyed the finer things in life," said his wife, Julie. "He sort of lived in the 40's. He was a Dapper Dan."

Mr. Kelly, 37, griped when Cantor Fitzgerald, where he worked as a municipal bond broker, switched to more casual business attire. He insisted on dressing up several times a week in butterscotch loafers or a camel's-hair coat.

He plied his siblings with restaurant recommendations and instructed his friends on the importance of proper shoe storage. "The loveliest of the lovelies" is what he called his wife.

"His life was short," Mrs. Kelly said. "So I'm glad he had all those things to enjoy." Recently, Mr. Kelly had happily parted with one cherished luxury: his golf membership at the Plandome Country Club, on Long Island. He was saving to put his children — Kevin, 6, MaryKate, 3, and Caroline, who was born Sept. 4 — through Catholic school.

Not sure what to say?

Timothy I never knew you or met you. I live in the other side of the world in Australia. My son and I visiting the Memorial and we both stopped when we saw your name. My sons name is also Timothy Kelly.

My family and I visited NY last fall after our 6 year old asked to go to to see the Statue of Liberty for his 7th birthday (instead of a traditional party and gifts). We visited the memorial and saw Timothy's name, which surprised us that we shared the same last name. We want his family to know that he is not forgotten. He is spoken of and the next generation knows about him and your loss. You are in our prayers!

I worked with Julie many years ago and met you once. A 9/11 does not pass without me thinking of you and your fine family. Rest in peace.

Rest in peace

Thinking of you, Tim, and your beautiful family on September 11, 2015. Rest in peace, Tim.

Although I never met Tim, I live in his house and was privileged to meet his beautiful wife Julie and their lovely family. Tim, we never forget you here and honor your memory. I think of you often and especially today. Rest in peace, Tim, and love and blessings to Julie, Kevin, Mary Kate and Caroline.

The God above hates violence. All those that participate in it he will do away with. Then all those that have fallen victim to it will raise up to a paradise earth to live in peace under Gods Kingdom. Looking forward to seeing them all there.
