Tim was both a gentle man and a fierce competitor on the beat -- an inspiration on both counts. I'll never forget his simple recipe for success as a reporter: "Make Calls!" Farewell, my friend.

Dear Ruth and Family,
While chatting with Tim at Lois Tuerff's wake, I commented to Tim that he was always the "brains of the outfit", and that he'd best take care of himself since there was no one on the horizon who could possibly fill his shoes. I never knew that I was such a prophet. For a little guy, he left a huge pair of shoes behind. He was loved by so many.

My deepest sympathy for my dear
O'Brien family. Being we, us Munks lived all over the US. whenever I
would call to talk to Ruthy, Tim would answer the phone, I would think to myself, well, there goes my 3 minute call...he loved to talk as we all know. I'll miss you, my One day at a time friend.....

To the O'Brien Family
On behalf of my brothers, Roger and Joseph, the Day family wishes to express its sympathy and sadness at the loss of Tim. We knew him in the 1950s in the Golden Knights when we were all young. His impish humor, great dedication and talent were key contributions to the success of the Golden Knights in its golden years. He will always be in our fondest recollections of our wonderful years together.
