Timothy Brian Port passed away on December 22, 2022 at the age of 46. Born and raised in Blythe, California, Timmy spent his youth roaming the Sonoran Desert where he found joy boating on the Colorado River and sleeping under the stars. He graduated from Palo Verde High School and then went on to graduate from the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation Academy in 1999; he served for over a decade as a correctional officer before pursuing work in finance and advocacy.
Driven by his unabashed sense of adventure and love for his family, he lived his life to the fullest in spite of being diagnosed with hemophilia in 1994. This was in no small part due to the support of his beloved sister Kerin Port, who predeceased him in 2016, and his father Timothy R. Port, who predeceased him in 2019.
Timmy is survived by his children: Caitlynn Port, Lauren Port, Margret Port, Brooke Wolcott, Kaitlynn Johnson and Brian Johnson; his wife Teri Port; his grandson Bryson Gamez; his mother Erin and stepfather Gus Zaharopoulos; his stepmother Cindy Lofton-Port; his aunt Marilee Harkinson and her husband Gary Harkinson; his cousins Matthew Morgan and Jenny Morgan with their families; and his siblings Nick Zaharopoulos, Melanie Davenport, Garrett Reaume, and Dana Marcin with their families.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Frye Chapel (633 N 7th Street, Blythe, CA 92225) with lunch to follow at the American Legion (137 N Ash Avenue, Blythe, CA 92225).
Family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to The Hemophilia Federation of America.
