Timothy Smith Obituary

Timothy Smith, 61, of Springfield, passed away on March 3, 2025, at St. John's Hospital. Timmy was a lifelong resident of Springfield, IL, and even though he would have rather been somewhere warmer, he always stuck it out for all of his family. He worked for the Secretary of State for 32 years, and in that time, he used his vacation hours to work at 16 Illinois State Fairs. He absolutely adored his nieces and nephews and there wasn't a thing in this world he wouldn't do for any of them. He loved sports- some of his favorite teams being the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, St. Louis Blues, and Chicago Bulls! Anytime between Friday and Monday, you could find him and his sister, Frances, swearing at the television watching wrestling of some kind. During the summer, you would never see Timmy inside. He spent a lot of his free time in the yard mowing, blaring rock and roll, and playing with his nieces and nephews. He was the sweetest man you could meet and would give anyone the shirt off his back if they were in need. He will forever be loved and missed! He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sinkhorn; father, Robert Smith; brothers, Bobby Smith and Jeff Smith; sisters, Karen Waters and Donna Harmon; brothers-in-law, Terry Moore and Billy Harmon; and nephews, Brian Cloud and Wyatt Dishon. Timmy is survived by his sisters, Frances Moore, Debbie Smith, and Mary (Brad) Heinrich; brother, Billy Smith; nieces, Kayla Moore, Kendall Heinrich, Weslynn Dishon, Bexley Hadden, Brynlee Moore, Pamela (Zack) Letz, Franki Smithers, Taylor Harmon, Sharon (Johnny) Smithers, Robin Childers, and Rylie Monson; nephews, Joseph Cloud, Waylon Voyles, Walker Dishon, Beckett Hadden, Zachary Letz, Johnny Smith, Jeffery Smith, and Hunter Monson; and many more nieces and nephews. Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Timothy, please visit our floral store.
