My sincerest sympathies to the Spangler family. I am the Executive Director of Kids Voting-Guilford County. Tim was a dedicated Kids Voting Precinct Captain for many years through Cresent Rotary. I worked with him every year and always knew I could count on him. He served our organization and the children of Guilford County well. He will be missed. I hope you will find comfort in knowing how much we and others thought of Tim.

Susan,
I extend my deepest heartfelt sympathies to you and each member of your family on your loss. Tim and I were roommates during our 4/C fall semester at the Coast Guard Academy in 1974. Tim drank his Dr. Pepper every evening because I think it prepared him for his grueling awakening at 5 AM to suit up and head down to the dock for crew practice. I never knew a roommate who spoke so fondly of his roots- for him in Greensboro, NC. That's why it never surprised me that the two of you...

Susan, Ben, Jacob, and Elizabeth – I am very sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Tim and our time as cadets at the Academy. He was always able to cheer us up and get us through the tough times. Although Tim and I lost touch with each other over the years, I followed his career and know he served his country with honor and distinction. Tim was a great man and will truly be missed.

It's been many years since I last saw Tim, but he and I were in the same Swap Summer Platoon at USCGA. I'll always remember his great sense of humor. He was a great leader and classmate. My thoughts and prayers are with those who loved him.

Susan, Ben, Jacob, Elizabeth - so sorry for your loss. Tim was such a spiritual person that I know he's in a better place. I remember like yesterday how excited and downright goofy he was when Ben was born in Champaign. Susan, you and the kids are in our prayers.

I extend deepest sympathies to the family for the loss of a great man. I recall with fondness our time together as cadets at the Coast Guard Academy. Early on, Tim displayed the finest attributes of an officer and gentleman. May God bless and keep him. And may fond memories provide some measure of comfort to his beloved family and friends.
