Timothy Carter Wilcosky

I just saw in the Carolina Alumni mag that Tim passed away this past winter Certainly sad to see that news. I was a roommate soph year at Duke and have fond memories. I had never met anyone with such a mustache at such a young age! He also hosted my brother and I at his family home during Spring break in 1971. I regret I lost touch with him (pre-internet) but happy to hear he got married and had a loving family til the end. Peace. Paul Currie Wilm. DE

I remember when he was the baby of the family. He was an impressive guy.

Tim was a friend dating back to our time together at Ohio State and he was my first contact at UNC when I was considering joining him in the Department of Epidemiology. For the next 15 years or so, he was a valued friend and colleague, always a source of sanity and wry humor about life's trials and tribulations. Despite losing contact for many years, it's easy even now to tune into the steady source of quiet wisdom and warmth he offered.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal. Hugs Maureen

Some of the best memories I had were sitting with "Old Fat Tim" who would save his junk mail for me and let me open it on his lap, give snacks to Joe the Sheep, and avoiding Sahai, the Stinky. Daphne, Annie, Gibby and family, you are in our thoughts, now and always.
