In canoes paddling down the Shiawassee river with me,Brad Lind,Harry Neville and Tim ending up in Bay City. Must have around 1952 or 53. We started at Meier Rd east of Byron.

I grew up down Torrey Road from Tim, and as a youngster looking for my first "job" I asked him if he needed help with the strawberry patch he kept behind his house. He did not, but sent me across the road to his dad Ken's house where I learned how to bale hay. Spent many hours with Ken on his farm, especially when Ken fell out of the top of his barn and broke both arms or wrists.
