Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel - Hobart Obituary

Tina M. Frost (née Govorchin), age 64, of Valparaiso passed unexpectedly on Saturday, November 30, 2024, after a severe stroke.

She leaves behind her devoted partner of 21 years, Ron Venhuizen; her children, Elizabeth (David Roberts) Frost and David (Debra Brannon) Frost Jr.; her beloved grandchildren, Corwin, Eliah, and Fiona; and her sister, Susan (Van) Thompson.

She will be remembered as a hard-working, resilient, and independent woman with a giving heart. She adored spending time with her young grandchildren and loved working outside in her garden. She translated her passion for animals into a significant impact on the local rescue community by fostering hundreds of homeless dogs and cats through the years - always stepping up for the seniors or those with medical needs.

Tina retired several years ago from Gary Railway (FKA EJ&E Railway), after 30 years of service. Since then, she has spent her time volunteering as a CASA for children in foster care and at The Humane Society of Hobart.

Per her wishes, there will be no public services. If you would like to honor her memory, please consider helping a neighbor, volunteering for a cause you care about, or donating to The Humane Society of Hobart [2054 East SR 130; Hobart, IN 46342], where her passion for saving homeless animals can live on.

In loving memory of a wonderful person . We will love you and miss you always.

Dearest Family Frost, with former residence for five years in Winter Haven, FL lost track of many Gary and Hobart folks. However, EJ&E people/retirees are a unique family thru the years. Tina will always be remembered with fond affection. She was the best of the best and dearly loved. All Blessings with you all.
Light & Love, "Auntie" June
