Not sure what to say?

I had the good fortune to work for Titus at the Colony Beach and Tennis Resort and then later at the Grenadier. Although I was just a busboy with a keen interest in the culinary arts, Titus taught me how to properly use a chef´s knife. He was very patient and very kind to me and although that has been more than fifty years ago, I still remember my experience working for Titus and Titus the man fondly.

I was truly blessed to have known Titus. I have many fond memories of him during my trips to Sarasota. God has received a very kind and generous man into His kingdom. Titus will be missed. Caroline & Thea - my thoughts are with you.

Betsie: I just heard about Titus...you are in my thoughts and what a wonderful place Titus created for all of us to dine and enjoy many wonderful evenings!

Titus was a true inspiration to my life. I began working for Titus when I was 15 years old as a busboy at the Grenadier restaurant in 1972. In 1973 I moved to the Cafe L Europe and started as a busboy and went on to become one of the youngest waiters at age 18. I looked upon Titus as a mentor and a person I admired so much. He was to me in a class of his own!! He gave me my first opportunity with my first job and I enjoyed working for him and giving him my all. I won't forget being a part of...

Titus....the love of my life and the BEST friend EVER......heaven is such a better place since you have now entered...to Betsie, Thea, Caroline, whom I'm sorry I've never met, Trudo and the rest of the Letschert family....thank you for sharing your husband, lover, brother, uncle, and loved one with all of us....to those who met Titus or knew him-.our lives are better and more enriched because of him...may we all take something away from his life and be better stewards to mankind...sleep well...

The earth is less one beautiful person. Never have I known such a gentleman who could treat a homeless person with the same respect as of a wealthy person. I only cared for his house plants several years ago, but my memory of him will last forever. We can only hope that someone as special as him will even exist. My heart goes out to you Caroline. You were blessed to have the time you did with him.

My dear Titus, you will be truly missed. So glad I got to see you last Summer and recall some happier times. My deepest sympathy goes to you family. Sleep in peace my friend. Carolyn Bonfrere

Rest in peace Titus. You will be missed by many, many freinds.

Titus was a warm and generous man and I was proud to call him my brother-in-law. My deepest sympathies to the family. I am sure Titus is in heaven buying a round of drinks for everyone. Peace be with you.
