Not sure what to say?

Thinking of Tom and Louise, and remembering the lovely company and lofty view on a perfect New Year's Day morning.

As an outsider I was no less touched by the passing of Tom Adler. My research into the Mahler family and the Third Reich was enhanced by reading his book 'Lost to the World'.

The loss of Tom is a real loss to our community of mediators. He was able to deal with the hardest issues with kindness and a light touch that empowered people.
Barbara Filner, NCRC Training Institute

I was very sorry to learn of Tom's death. I met him when he took mediation training from National Conflict Resolution Center (previously known as San Diego Mediation Center) and I was one of the trainers. I was very impressed with his skills and encouraged him to take the advanced program to receive an NCRC mediator credential. He enjoyed it and became a volunteer mediator. We valued his service to the community as a smart and compassionate mediator. All of us at NCRC who knew him send...

Tom and I shared a house back in 1971 in Hillcrest when we were involved in a non-profit org. This was before he had become an attorney. Tom was quite a few years older than I was, but he treated me with respect and as a friend. I remember that Tom was incredibly funny and smart. I was pleased to attend his law school graduation. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tom's family. I'd like you to know that many of us from that era in Tom's life still have fond memories of him that linger to this...

My deepest sympathies to Judge Adler, family members and friends. I wish you all well during this sad time. God bless you.

I was just a "baby" prosecutor on two cases with Tom, which he probably had no reason to remember given his illustrious career, but I never forgot over the years because he was kind and fair to me while still being a zealous advocate. His legacy, beyond his family, are the thousands of lives, like mine, he touched in such a positive way.

Tom was one of life's treasures. A man of many interests, everything he did, he did well. It was always a pleasure to be in his presence. His book, Lost to the World, was a metaphor of his life: a dogged determination to right a grievous wrong. His loss will be felt because there aren't many like him. He will be sorely missed.

Louise, so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
