I worked with Tom online, helping put a cookbook in iPad format years ago.... and we chatted about his Martian Sands project at that time too. A mutual Facebook friend just told me of Tom's passing.

Tom's sense of humor was subtle and infectious. His dedication to the task at hand, whether in journalism or on the playing field, showed a genuine love of living life to its fullest. I enjoyed working alongside him at the Gazette. We are all the poorer for his early demise.
