Not sure what to say?

I came across this quite by accident but I guess there are no accidents. I know who Tom was but he didn't know me my father used to take me to his basketball in football games when he was a star at Littleton high school. I really admired him from Afar and interestingly I did play baseball as a kid with his brother Miles.

Dear Tom,

I am so grateful that we reconnected a few months ago. In the days that followed our phone chat, it often occurred to me how the many years since we saw each other were immediately bridged by mention of events from our youth. Just think, Tom--you, me, Dennis, and Chris almost burned Littleton down! We were usually silly, and we were often stupid, but we were loyal friends and teammates. I loved you then as I love you now. Rest in peace, dear friend.

On remembering my cousin Tom; it is with great sadness that our family received the news of Tom's passing and the loss of a good man. Pam, I sincerely regret that over the years our paths have so seldom crossed. Now I pause and fondly reflect on the days of your last visit to our Stonewall home and the beautiful evening we shared in the "Alamo City", absorbing the sights and sounds along the "River Walk". That was many years ago, but I shall remember Tom as he was then, in good health,...

Tom was a very caring person and worked hard for years as President and Board Member to make life better for the members of the Greenwood community. He continued to be most supportive to board members even as his health declined and it was difficult for him to be of assistance. I will miss Tom as a friend and Greenwood will miss his advice, good humor and support.

I am sorry to hear about Tom and send these condolences along with my hope that your memories of the good times you had with him will comfort you in your grief. Tom and I were friends through Grant Junior High School and Littleton High School and we played on the football teams for both schools. Tom was a loyal team mate, a gifted athlete and a good friend.
