I was thinking of him today as I was trimming my backyard trees which he did for me when I first moved in. Tom with a cigar in his mouth, chain saw in one hand and hand saw in other would be up high and crash slide to the bottom and climb back up with a typical big smile. Miss him dearly.

Tom was the best neighbor for over 35 years that anyone could ask for. He helped me out so many times. Would always love catching up with him in the street as he was going by. I will miss his happy go lucky way. I was so saddened when learning of his passing.

I didn't know Tom that well but for a period of years, around 25- 30 years or so, I did see him. As the other signers in this condolence book write, he was always in a good mood, always fun and friendly.
I hope he had half of the happiness that he seemed to bring to others.
Good extroverted, fun guys like this are always going too soon. Come back Tom. I know some has beens that are still with us. I'd trade all of them for you just like that.

I will miss Tom with his big smile and laugh, his sigh before he spoke and his wonderful and positive attitude. Tom was never judgmental and always complimented you when he saw you either through a pass memory or something in the present. To say that Tom moved to the beat of a different drummer is an understatement. I had a blast with Tom and DanLacey when they visited me on Singer Island after we all graduated from college. That week trip had my guest staying for a month. I always loved the...

Like a lot of us at Southern Oregon State when we weren't studying and fullfing our role as student athletes we found time to kick back, so proud to say that Tom was a great participant. Funny, unpredictable, mischievous, but such a solid guy. Never greeted me with out a smile. I'm very fortunate and proud to say I was a small part of his life.

As one of his cousins, I have very fond memories of Tom and all of the Kleffner family. We spent most of our summers hanging out at the grandparent's (Carl and Melva Scheibert )family pool and it was always so much fun. I grew up alongside the Kleffner family and Tommy being just 2 yrs younger, was one of my pals. Always smiling and cracking jokes. There are too many memories to be specific. Those days spent with family will remain in my heart forever... Janet Hudson

I met Tom in 1st grade at St Paul’s grade school in Eugene, and continued to be a classmate through St Anthony’s in Tigard and Jesuit High. Would lone to hang out at Tom’s house in high school with the football buds. And has fate would have it, my son and Tom’s nephew Adam became good buds thru high school and college. I’ll never forget Tom’s broad smile and wit, and artistic and creative ability. He will be missed.
Best wishes to his family.

I've known Tom since 6th grade at St. Anthony's in Tigard thru the Jesuit years up to his passing. He was a giving, happy and free man. My heart goes out to the remaining Kleffner family. We shared so many activities, projects, sports and adventures all with Tom's unique point of view. He was mischievous, caring and always fun!
Tom will start a fire in Heaven!
Tommy, you are missed.
