Tom Moyer

Act IV mate. Sailed with Tom.

My great Grandfather James (Jim Barham) was close life-long friends with Tom Moyer. I say lifelong because though they met as flyboys in WW2 as men. But they remained close and visited yearly, for decades it went on like that into the 1980's when I was still a kid. Jim Barham settled after the war in LA but came up to Oregon at least once per year, in part to visit my father and his family but also to be with Tom. i never got the chance to meet tom in person,but i know he and my grandmother knew each other . He will always be great, and now home with his dear wife .Truly he is happy in heaven. Sincerely Becky Thompson

I have great memories of working for the Moyers as a teenager, at the Family Drive In in the 60's. When the fog would roll in and we had to close, Tom would invite his employees to go over to Eastgate for a free movie evening. Nice family, great kids to spend time with.

Tom was a gentle giant with a big heart and a wonderful spirit. He will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched and by his dear family and friends. We were proud to call him a friend.

My late mother, Martha Gevurtz York, always spoke highly of Tommy. She worked for nearly 40 years on Portland's Film Row, where the major studios formerly had their local branches. She was always bringing home Tommy Moyer stories. Growing up, I felt like I knew him. Truly an amazing man.
