Not sure what to say?

Rip Tom. Your life mattered. Play a round of scrabble for me.

Rip in Tom.

I personally have never forgotten Mr. Newton. I have spoken many, many times to friends and family about the play West Side Story at Southside High School...... He was a gas to be around, funny, serious, and had a very special way of getting the best out of people who were not sure if they could do something..... He left a lifetime impression with me.....

I miss you terribly....

Mr. newton, as I knew him, left a deep and permanent imprint. As we clueless high schoolers sat quietly in our seats, during the explosive foment that was the late 1960s, Mr. Newton stormed into the classroom, wielding none other than the Cheap Thrills LP by Big Brother and the Holding Company. Dear M.K., I really have no words to express how sorry I am for your loss. He will be so missed. Sending loving light to you in this dark hour. Love,Laurie

Rest in peace dear Tom. You always strived for the best and won. I still remember the intensity at scrabble and your joy in playing and winning. MK had the joy of your love and laughter for many years. I know you will be sending love from your new theater in the sky. Break a leg dear man.

Oh, no! There's no replacing Tom. The sky will be a little less bright; though the room, a lot quieter. Mary Kay, our hearts are with you and all those near and dear to you and Tom. We loved him and didn't spend nearly enough time in his exuberant company. "To Life, to life, l'chiam! " To me, that epitomizes Tom. We weep for his loss. Sharon and Norman

I first met Tom when he hired me straight out of high school to be a typesetter for the Good Times Gazette. Back then I typed the newspaper on an IBM Selectric typewriter using adding machine tape (because it was the same size as the column width of the newspaper)! My "office" was crammed into his apartment entry located in the DeWitt Mall. From there we moved our offices to his house on Aurora Street, where once again my office was located in the entry hall. Eventually we moved into...
