Tom Parks

Your father, Tom, helped shape the history of Jacksonville: Through his years as town mayor and for his purchase and eventual sale of 15 acres of woodlands to the Jacksonville Woodlands Association and the City of Jacksonville. The land is now "Panorama Point" and the most scenic portion of Jacksonville's extensive trail system. Tom's legacy lives on at the "Point" and its grand vista of Jacksonville and the Cascade Mountains and the Rim of Crater Lake.

What an amazing man. Rob and Julie I´m so sorry for your loss, but what a blessing to have such a wonderful father.

I am grateful for my relationship with Tom. His care for others was evident whenever he was with you. Despite having a such a keen intellect, Tom spoke without a hint of arrogance, and was truly present whenever you were with him. His eyes would twinkle with delight at the world around him, and he was always very quick to laugh. He was open and honest, and I loved the deep conversations I had with him. He is very missed by me, my wife, our children, and many others. Thank you Tom.

I met Tom Parks when I was a candidate running for office and he was the mayor of Jacksonville. Eventually we both ended up as members of the Medford City Council and very close friends until his recent and sad death. We had the opportunity to travel together on government business a number of times that allowed us to really get to know one another well.
