Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Tom's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the Payne family.
I had the opportunity to spend some time with Tom as a teenager working on 2100 when it was in St. Thomas, Ontario. He was gracious with us young kids whom he knew had a passion for steam locomotives like he did. Always a gentleman who proved that dreaming big can actually become a reality. Many great things in the Canadian railway industry may not have happened if it weren't for Tom.

I have just today learned of Tom's death. He was in our wedding party in Toronto in September 1971! Rob and Mary Wilson. Rob met Tom at Pioneer Camp. One of a kind, that Tom. Happy times on his jigger car outside Edmonton! Blessings to his family and friends from Mary in Muskoka, Ontario. I am married to Phil Arthur.

Tom was a gentleman. Tom was gracious and generous with his time. My students loved Tom's guest lectures on entrepreneurship.
