Not sure what to say?

Tom Staley, known to me as Manly Staley, was my roommate during our Junior Year Abroad in Paris (1964-1965), where we boarded with Mme Irène Hannebicque on the Rue du Faubourg Poissonière. He was an intrepid traveler. During the Christmas break (1964), impelled by a bout of home sickness, he hitchhiked from Paris to Prestwick (Scotland) where he boarded a plane to Gander in Newfoundland (Canada) and proceeded to hitchhike home to the US. I had the great privilege of meeting Tom through a mutual friend at the March on Washington in 1993. He had a magnetic personality and we became almost immediate friends. Some knew him by Tom, we knew him as Manly. He was my cousin and my wife Kris and I stopped by to see Manly when ever we were traveling through California. It was always good to see him. At our last visit (August 10, 2017)we noticed he was not doing well.He knew it also. Manly was fun to talk to and always had a story or two to tell us.We will miss him but do realize he is in a better place now.
