Tommie Dean Richardson, 75, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS.


Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2016, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Skinner officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Columbus, MS  with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.


Mrs. Richardson was born June 20, 1940, to the late Walter L. and Delcie Ipock Atkins. She was a hairdresser and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Richardson enjoyed gardening and putting up vegetables, drawing house plans, interior decorating, and being very creative. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter-Susan Milling; son-Greg Richardson; grandchild-Tyler Richardson; brothers-R. C. Atkins, Parker Atkins, and Arthur Atkins.


Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband-Charles Richardson, Columbus, MS; daughter-Kathy Richardson, Columbus, MS; son-Kenneth Richardson, Columbus, MS; sisters-Elizabeth Waring and Janett (Jake) O’Barr; brother-Morris Ray (Marilyn) Atkins; grandchildren-Grant Duncan, Garrett Duncan, Barry Milling, Jennifer (Jeremy) Madison, and Alea Robertson; and great-grandchildren Madalynn Skyler Reese Richardson, Gage Duncan, Ellie Duncan, Jace Luther, Mason Luther, Haleigh Vail.


Pallbearers will be Grant Duncan, Garrett Duncan, Barry Milling, Randy Collins, Guy Wilcox and Raymond Ferrell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lucas McDonald Tim Atkins, and Harold Ray Atkins.


Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Tommie you will always be in my heart..in the short time we got to know one another you had me laughing and crying all at the same time..from day one you helped me understand things I just couldn't get my heart to understand..all those late night talks helped me a lot more then you will ever know..RIP sweet lady for one day we will meet again.
