Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Tommy M. Brumbelow, 71, of Wichita Falls passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls with Pastor Terri Whitgrove, officiating.

Tommy was born on March 5, 1953 to Jacob Marion and Mildred (Copeland) Brumbelow in Wichita Falls. Tommy was a hard worker which he inherited from working with his dad growing up. During this time he quickly learned that his work ethic partnered with his natural ability to connect with people would allow him to shine in the restaurant industry. After several years of working at Pizza Inn and Pizza Planet, Tommy took a leap and purchased Pizza Planet. He shined in that role for 11 years. He ultimately retired from a successful career at Pepsi but, Tommy will remain known for his pizza making skills and his love of the business.

Soon after retirement, what started off as a daily round of golf at River Creek golf course quickly turned into working overtime. The overtime didn’t last long as Tommy adapted to working only three days a week so he could golf the other four. One of his greatest pleasures was golfing with family and friends. He enjoyed spending the remainder of his free time with his main bud, Brison Wade. They had a special bond. Tommy will be remembered by those who knew him as a very kind and generous man. A man with a passion for golf, loved animals, especially his Mojo and Cowboy, playing pool, listening to old country music, and dancing. Most of all of these, he will forever be remembered as a man who loved his family and always put them first.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents.

Tommy is survived by three sons, Jason and Lindsay of Wichita Falls, Blake and Austin of Tucson, Arizona and Brendt and Kelli of Holiday Texas; five grandchildren, Brison, Tucker, Layla, Aiden and Mason; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Earl of Nocona, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Stephanie of Taos, New Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Not sure what to say?

I worked a short time for him at Pizza Inn. He fired me. Said I just wasn’t right for pizza making. And he was right! I knew him through his cousin James ,who worked for him. Rest In Peace Tommy.

I remember going to school with Tommie at Bonham elementary. He was a good friend.

Fun memory..He helped my golf game but a jockster too..We would hit multiple golf balls and he would drive by them to scoop up while still moving ...I would scoop the ball up and move on to the next ..Couple times he decided to make that sudden left turn as I was reaching for the ball..Yup, I would end up rolling out of the cart and him laughing hard..He got me twice...lol

My Granny Choate lived on 23rd street when we were kids by the Baxters Vaughns and Okie Neal.We recent lost Randy Smith. GOD BLESS you Tommy.

Lots of good times when we took the gals to the TWIN FALLS DRIVE IN.

We will miss you cuz.i hope you are playing golf in heaven and making pizzas. Rip and we will see you again when we join you in heaven ❤

My condolences to the family and a fine happy friendly friend which I knew and worked back at Pepsi Cola/Dr Pepper... Rest in Peace Tommy....
