Tommy Edwards, 17, of Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday morning.
Tommy was a Senior at Crawfordsville High School, where he played baseball, was a member of the French Club. In previous years, he had played basketball and football. He was working at the Early Learning Center at Willson Pre-School and wanted to become a pre-school teacher. He was a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church, where he participated in Escape Student Minstries.
His surviving family includes: his mother and step-dad, Ed and Terri Simpson; sister, Taylin; his father and step-mom, Tom and Melanie Edwards; brothers, Josh Kunkel, Nathan Sheridan, J.T. Edwards; sisters, Charity Edwards, Serenity Edwards, Tiffany Edwards; grandmother, Eileen Martin; grandmother, Sue West; grandparents, Archie and Linda Simpson; grandparents, Dick and Evelyn White; great-grandmother, Phyllis Cagley; niece and nephew, Luna and Knoxx; as well as niece, Finley.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Bob Martin and Dick West and a brother, Drew Simpson.
Family and friends can pay their respects Tuesday from 2 to 6 PM at Woodland Heights Christian Church, 468 N. Woodland Heights Drive, Crawfordsville. Services will begin at 6 PM, led by Pastor Kris Howell. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.

My family was privileged to have met and known Tommy this last summer. My son, Scott, roomed with Tommy during the Detroit RBI Tourney. When I learned that Tommy was a church going young man, I was so pleased and grateful that the Lord paired him with my son. I know that Tommy's life will leave a lasting impression on my son's heart and life.
