Tommy Sanson Obituary

Mr. Tommy L. Sanson, 63, of Conway, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at a local hospital.

Tommy was born August 17, 1941 at Happy Hollow, Arkansas, a son of the late Arch W. and Viola Susan (Harrod) Sanson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, W. H. “Bill” and Presley “Shine” Sanson. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Conway.

Mr. Sanson was a graduate of Enola High School; received his BS in Business at Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA); graduate of The Banking School of the South at LSU. He was employed twenty-two years with First National Bank of Conway (now Regions) and was president of the bank his last three years there. He was also a cattleman and founder of Sanson - Dwire Funeral Home (now Griffin Leggett Funeral Home) of Conway.

Tommy was past board member of the Young Business Men’s Association; a charter member of the Conway Jaycees; a past board member of the Arkansas Manufactured Housing Commission; and Faulkner County Cattlemen’ s Association.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cattle farming and his grandchildren in his leisure time.

Tommy is survived by Carolyn Sanson of Conway; daughters, Connie Bollier and husband Thomas of Guy; Laura Hill and husband Robert of Conway; a son, Greg Sanson of Conway; a brother, Kenneth Sanson and wife Peggy of Happy Hollow; grandchildren, Megan and Jordan Bollier; Kyler Sanson and Trey Hill; three nephews and seven nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fresh Start Ministries, P.O. Box 1630 Conway, Arkansas 72033.

Viewing will begin Wednesday, September 29, 2004 in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett—Conway; the family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Thursday night in the chapel.

Funeral Service for Tommy will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2004 in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Pillow officiating, assisted by Johnny Allison and Joe White, Eulogists. Pallbearers will be Johnny Allison, Joe White, Tommy Lewis, Jack Roberts, George Bowie, Eugene Klassmeyer, Rocky Lynch, Randy Sims. Honorary Pallbearers are Hal Crafton, Jim Pearce, Ronald Pearce, Dr.Ray Hambuchen, Mil Adams, Cecil Bell, Don Scroggins, Dr.Tom Beasley, Vic Paladino, Danny Linn, Stan Joyner, Bob Kordsmeier and Bunny Adcock. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park under direction of Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Drive Conway, AR 72034. 501-327-5000.

Our deepest sympathies to the family. My father taught Mr. Sanson at Enola High School, and was very fond of him. I enjoyed seeing him at First National Bank when I lived in Conway.
