Toni Beauchamp succumbed to a hard-fought struggle against ovarian cancer on March 9, 2012, leaving a void in the graciousness, scholarship, and patronage of our Bayou City. When T. S. Not sure what to say?

I didn't know Toni well
Just to smile
and say hello
Small talk

She was special
In a peripheral way

I was always pleased
to see her coming
… so pretty
she was

I didn't know how
Special until
she was gone

I know few people
with such grace and
beauty So quiet Who
hide their light under
a bushel so

Save my wife

Marfa was
her freedom place
Her bushel place

I suppose
I don't...

Jeff, I am so sorry to hear of Toni's death. I was thinking about you and went online to check on you and see if you were still in Houston and stumbled on to this. I will try to contact you later again, so sorry.

Jeff, I am blessed to have known you and Toni for so very many years. Toni, in her gentle and wise manner, has shared herself in so many ways that inspire us all, that lift our hearts to beauty and kindness and move us to share more of ourselves with the world. My heart aches for you, having lost your devoted soul mate, but I rejoice for the beauty the two of you shared for so many years.
With much love,
Sue Barnum

Jeff, Gary and I are so sorry for your loss. Although we only knew Toni for a short time, she was a gentle soul and an inspiration to us all. With love, Cathy and Gary Brock

Jeff, I have admired, respected and loved you and Toni, albeit from the periphery for several years. I am deeply sad at the loss of beautiful, gentle Toni Beauchamp. There is a line in my spirituality about keeping one's light under a bushel. To me, that was Toni. I conclude that if Toni Beauchamp can die, be assured that anyone can.

I am forever blessed to have known Toni and her beloved Jeff. Toni brought light into the lives of others with all of her heartfelt projects. Jeff, you were by her side and so faithful for so long. Your memories and ours are forever.

We remember Toni fondly and send our most heartfelt sympathies on your loss.

Jeff, how grateful and honored I am to have shared moments with the two of you. Thank you for sharing many more in this story of your love and your beloved. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Remember to accept the gift of loving service.
