Dear Kates-Florence Family

I was deeply sorry to hear of Dr. Florence' s passing and I extend my heartfelt condolences to each of you. I was a student of Professor Florence last Fall'10 and I enjoyed her class tremendously. Dr. Florence has been the only African American instructor that I have had here at CWRU and she presented herself to me, a first semester, non-traditional black female undergrad, as a most enjoyable and down-to-earth person as well.
