Not sure what to say?

To the Ames Family, May God bless you. I was informed of about Tony's passing from Shellie (Whittington) Jones. She knew I got to know Tony while we were at Fort Dix for basic training in 1968. Both of us were in the National Guards at the time. I looked forward to seeing Tony the next few years at summer camp in Camp Drum, NY and Camp Pickett (VA). We became fast friends at the Reception Station at Fort Dix when we learned we had a mutual friend, Dave Wharton, who Tony played basketball...

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome...

To the Ames Family

I was sorry to learn of the passing of Tony. I met Tony in 1963 when were students at Delaware State College. Although I only knew him during our college years, Tony was someone you would never forget. He was a very kind person and he just brought joy to all who knew him. His smile would light up the room! The Class of 1967 will always remember Tony and joyful spirit.

To the Ames Family,

Please accept my sincere condolences. I was privileged to know Tony for a brief period when we were students at Delaware State. Tony had a sweet spirit and his smile was simply contagious! Tony brought joy, humor and comfort to me and to our mutual friends - the old "In Crowd", Class of 1967.

Rest in the Arms of the Lord, Tony.

To Billy and the rest of the Ames family...Please accept my condolences for the loss of your loved one. Although he is gone he will never be forgotten. Tony had a smile that would light up the darkess room, a demeanor that would warm the coldest heart and a talent that surprised the most ardent skeptics. It was always a pleasure to be in his company. And I will always remember him especially on our road trips to Canada. Many men are imitated, none are duplicated...Tony was just that... one...

To Billy and the rest of the Ames family.Seventh Street bore so many wonderful people but Tony was the most wonderful. He was a gift from God. God shared him with us for a brief moment (to make us all better) and then he called the shining light home. We will all miss his swager, confidence, performance, and his engaging personality and big smile. However, the memories left behind will never die. Be strong, we will see him again. We have been blessed.
