Tony Banks, beloved husband, father and grandfather, entered rest Sunday, May 16, 2010. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Baker Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1050 E. Humbolt. Interment: Cedar Hill. Visitation: 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at historic Baker Funeral Home, with a wake 7 to 8 p.m. Tony Banks was born June 8, 1917, to Tom and Ella Banks in Crawford County. Mr. Banks was a Steward emeritus and founding member of the Baker Knights male chorus at his church. Brother Banks affiliated with Pride of the South Lodge #324 - Free and Accepted Masons, and the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alberta Banks; son, Douglas Banks; 16 siblings; and son-in-law, Lorenzo Rauls. Survivors: Wife, Frances Banks; children, Charles Banks (Betty), Patricia Rauls, Barbara Jones (Jeff), Toni Taylor (Larry), Dana Banks and Lupita Banks; 15 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren to the fifth generation; and many other family members and friends.
