I had the honor and pleasure of learning to play the accordion by the great Tony Dannon. My wife also gained a great appreciation for him when he played so beautifully at our wedding reception and answered every request given with joy. Just late last year I began to play the accordion once again which brought back some memories of my experiences with him. I realized then that he meant a great deal to me and will always be in my heart. He will be sincerely missed, but his musical gift will...

He was the first judge I had in an evaluation then the American Accordionists' Association festival competition was in Washington, DC in 2000 at the Wyndham City Center Hotel. I played Palmer-Hughes Rimsky-Korsakov. He said, "You play with the heart."

Tony Dannon was a wonderful musician as well as a wonderful person. He was very gifted, and I had the opportunity to play with him on one occasion at the Vintage House. I had the house band there and his brother Joseph was our fine accordionist. We wish Joe and all the family the very best and our heart felt condolences.

Tony was such a wonderful man and musician and he and my father, Guido Tacconelli, knew each other very well through their love of music. When it was time for our children to get married, my dad said we couldn't have any other than Tony to honor us with his music at the receptions. We lost our dad a year and a half ago and feel the family's great loss. Tony didn't know my dad passed, but I'm sure they know by now and putting on the greatest music in the Heavens!
