Tony Dannon

I had the honor and pleasure of learning to play the accordion by the great Tony Dannon. My wife also gained a great appreciation for him when he played so beautifully at our wedding reception and answered every request given with joy. Just late last year I began to play the accordion once again which brought back some memories of my experiences with him. He was the first judge I had in an evaluation then the American Accordionists' Association festival competition was in Washington, DC in 2000 at the Wyndham City Center Hotel. I played Palmer-Hughes Rimsky-Korsakov. He said, "You play with the heart."

Tony Dannon was a wonderful musician as well as a wonderful person. He was very gifted, and I had the opportunity to play with him on one occasion at the Vintage House. I had the house band there and his brother Joseph was our fine accordionist. We wish Joe and all the family the very best and our heart felt condolences.
