Tony Lee Demaree, 52, formerly of Arkansas City, died Saturday (September 18, 2010) in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (September 22, 2010) at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Parker Cemetery following creamtion. Pastor Robert Barrett will officiate. Tony was born December 29, 1957 in Arkansas City to Elmer and Barbara (McCarter) Demaree. He was reared and educated in Arkansas City attending Arkansas City High School. Tony served in the United States Navy. Tony married Sonja Cravens in 1976, and they had two children. He later married Orna Williams. Tony worked as a mechanic most of his life. He was ACE certified and was one of the first mechanics in Oklahoma to be certified for both the Plymouth Prowler and the Dodge Viper. Tony worked in Stillwater and at Zeller Motors of Arkansas City. Survivors include two daughters Kari Ridgeway of Arkansas City, Courtney Demaree of Wichita; two adopted daughters Ashley Demaree of Virginia and Megan Whitener of Arkansas City; his mother Barbara Demaree of Arkansas City; a bother Terry and his wife Kim Demaree of Geuda Springs; two sisters Kathy and her husband Roger McCombs of Seddro Woolley, Washington, Denise and her husband Tom Vroman of Arkansas City; seven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, eight uncles and four aunts. A memorial has been established with the First Presbyterian Church ~ Five Loaves Ministries.
