Not sure what to say?

I was just looking up old units and came across this. Mr. B was one of the most respectful individuals you ever could get to know. Always the same no matter the situation. I will miss him dearly. May GOD bless and keep him close. Fair winds and following seas.

Just found out and am deeply saddened to learn of Trellis' passing. I worked alongside Trellis for more than 3 years as E6s on the LANT Area Training Team out of Governors Island during the late 80s. We clicked well and trained loads of pre-com Island class cutter crews in New Orleans. It was Trellis who made me consider and motivated me to apply for OCS. I'm now a Captain still on active duty. Trellis had a heart of gold, loads of patience, & a great sense of humor. I loved playing...

Jackie...Words cannot express the grief Sharon and I experienced upon hearing of Trellis' death. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

My wife, Wanda just informed me that Trellis passed on last year. I am greatly saddened and know that I have lost a great friend, brother, and comrade in arms. I was honored to serve with Trellis as his MKC aboard the USCGC Ocracoke WPB 1307. I will always treasure our sunset "cigar breaks" on the open bridge during a beautiful Caribbean sunset. God speed "T" and God Bless. Hold a spot for me on that open bridge, we have more sailing to do. Love you brother.

Jackie--There are no words to express the pain we feel hearing that our friend Bivins is gone. We will always remember our days at the Honor Guard and the times our families spent together. May he rest in peace. We will keep your family in our hearts and continue to pray. We miss you all.

Rest in Peace

Fair winds, and following seas Mr. Bivins, you were a great CO when I was stationed with you onboard the CGC Ocracoke in Puerto Rico. You will be truly missed, and may God continue to bless your family.

USCG GunnersMate 1st Class (Retired)

I first met Trellis when I was a brand new XO aboard the mighty SORREL in Governors Island, NY, in 1992. He was already aboard and the Ops Officer. I was new not only to the boat, but to Aids to Navigation ... had no idea what I was doing. With his hallmark patience, good humor, and low-key professionalism, Trellis taught me what I needed to know in a way that was extremely kind and caring - he never made me feel small for having to depend on him to teach me what I felt I should have...

Thanks for all for your kind words and guidance. You will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family my friend…
