Dear Thompson Family,

My deepest heartfelt sympathy is sent your way. Trent was an amazing young man and player. The first time I saw him was at a Summer tournament in Bakersfield a couple of years ago. He was only a Junior but he won the MVP trophy that year for the tournament. I love watching HS Basketball, but never missed when Clovis West came to town. Our family really enjoyed watching Trent. He always played real well when he came to our town. I bet his scoring average in...

Kathi, Trevor, and Curtis,
I feel somewhat cheated that I never had the privelege of knowing Trent but feel that, in a sense, I did through Kathi and Trevor. What an outstanding young man he has been and still is. I'm sure he will be an incredible missionary where he is now and rest assured, that is definitely what he is doing! My love goes to you and your whole family and your community. And my prayers are with you, too.
Love from your Missionary Mom Sister,
Carol...

Mr.and Mrs.Thompson,
My son Matt and I had the great pleasure and honor of hosting Trent and a teammate of his in our home last November, when his basketball team took a "bonding" trip to Huntington beach with their new coach. He touched our lives at a most vulnerable moment. Matt had just suffered a severe ankle injury the day before. I had been scheduled to accompany my husband on a business trip to Boston, where we were going to be reunited with many family members and friends we...

We thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday
And days before that too.

We think of you in silence
We often speak your name.

Now all we have are memories
And your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake
With which we'll never part.

God has you in His keeping
We have you in our Heart.

The memorial service yesterday just reinforced what we already knew about Trent. That he was a special young man with high standards and values. He made a deep impression on all who met him. I was fortunate enough to hear him talk at a SART meeting and turned to the lady sitting next to me and said "Wow!" Afterwards, I spoke to him for a few moments and his wonderful smile and sincerity took me by surprise. He treated EVERYONE with respect - even my freshman daughter, Katie - who thought he...
