Trey Rondell Houchens

Trey Rondell Houchens, 9, of Troy, Virginia, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday October 20, 2011, at his home.

Trey was preceded in death by his grandfather the late Ronald Lee Houchens Sr. He was born on November 18, 2001, in Charlottesville, Virginia, and was a 3rd grader at Central Elementary School in Palmyra, Virginia. Trey is survived by his parents, Ronald Lee Houchens Jr. and Maisha Anderson; two grandmothers, Carolyn Houchens and Ronald Sr. of Mineral, Virginia, and Carolyn Anderson of Palmyra, Virginia; great- grandparents, David and Mary Waller of Beaverdam, Virginia, and Virginia Swangin of Palmyra, Virginia; three siblings, Jasmine Johnson, Cierra Anderson and Jamell Houchens; two aunts, Sharon Houchens of Mineral, Virginia, and Relita Price of Culpeper, Virginia; one uncle, Edward Anderson of Palmyra, Virginia; and one loving , devoted and very special cousin, who was much like an additional sister, Mercedes Price of Culpeper Virginia. Trey also leaves behind, eight great-uncles, four great-aunts, and a host of cousins, and friends. Trey spent the majority of his time at Central Elementary School with a special, devoted and extremely dedicated friend Mr. Chuck Taylor. Rarely would you see one without the other. The bond formed amongst those two was well known amongst the Central Elementary School staff and greatly appreciated by Trey's family. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2011, at the Rising Sun Baptist Church, 6829 Fredericks Hall Road, Mineral, VA 23117 officiated by Pastor Lee. Interment will follow at the Houchens family cemetery. The family will receive friends at their homes.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fluvanna County Central Elementary School, Library Fund, 3340 Central Plains Road, Palmyra, Virginia 22963. Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville in charge of arrangements.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Trey. He was a very likeable young man. I enjoyed the conversations he and I would have when I rode bus 72. Keep your hands in God hands and he will see you through this ordeal. Remember God is to just to be unkind and to gracious to error for our heavenly father knows best. I will truely miss Trey, his conversations and his sweet personality.

I was blessed to be his first teacher. I will never forget him walking to me with a walker. I don't know who taught who the most. I am truly sorry for your lose. He was a wonderful young man.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Trey was a friends with my son. Trey taught my son things i couldnt and i will be forever thankful to Trey. I think the world of him. Trey will be missed
