Morgan, Troy – of Birch Run, age 87, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Lt. Col. Joseph T. Morgan officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-9 PM and Saturday from 11 AM until time of service. Troy was born August 28, 1924 in Asher, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Suddie (Leddington) Morgan. He was a World War II U.S. Army Sergeant in the 35th Infantry with service in the Pacific Theater and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. He married Emma Smith on May 10, 1947 in Asher, Kentucky. They moved to Michigan in 1957 and have resided in the Clio – Birch Run area the past 15 years. Troy retired from Chevrolet Mfg. with 30 years of service in 1983. He was also a member of UAW Local 659. He enjoyed working on cars and tractors, hunting, fishing, gardening and caring for his humming birds. Surviving are: Wife, Emma; 5 children: Gary (Christina) Morgan of Beaver Island, MI., Gail (Norman) Johns of Palm Harbor, FL., Kenneth Morgan of Burton, Barbara (Larry) Lawrence of Tarpon Springs, FL., and Eva-Jean (Dale) Hogard of Flushing. 10 grandchildren: Michelle, Gary, Joseph Troy, Jeremy, Aaron (Ann), Ashley (Curt), Penny, Toni and Kerry. 8 great grandchildren: Katherine (Jon), Gregory Troy, Joseph Paul, Nicholas, Lilly, Faith, Emily and Abbey. 1 great-great grandchild: Landon Schadler. Sister: Verlin Griffin. Troy was also preceded in death by his adopted parents: Molly (Hirm) Bowling; Brothers: Roy and Hirm; Sister: Eva and grandson: John Dale Hogard.
