TROY MOSS

LITTLEFIELD (Special) Funeral Services for Troy Oden Moss, age 88, of Lubbock, formerly of Littlefield, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield, Texas with Wilburn Dennis, retired Church of Christ Minister, officiating Jamie Wootton, pastor will assist. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield.

Mr. Moss passed away at 6:20 PM Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Carillon House in Lubbock.

He married Aurora Akers May 25, 1935 at Ada, OK. They moved to the Littlefield area in 1939 where he farmed until retiring in 1980. He assisted his wife Aurora in her shoe store until it closed in 1984.

He graduated from Vanoss, OK High Scholl in 1934 where he was the class Valedictorian.

Troy was an Elder at Crescent Park Church of Christ for over 40 years, and had served on the Littlefield ISD Board of Directors. The Littlefield Chamber of Commerce honored Troy and Aurora as the Farm Family of the Year in 1958. He enjoyed traveling and fishing.

One Son: Tommy Moss and wife Drusilla, of Littlefield

One Daughter: Norma Kay Evans and husband Lyndel, of Lubbock.

Three Brothers: James (Lefty) Moss, Garland, Texas Doyle (Pud) Moss, Brownfield, Texas Elbert Lee (Jack) Moss Jr. Lubbock

5 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren

The family suggests memorials be made to the New Mexico Children’s Home, Portales, NM or to Vista Care Hospice of Lubbock.
