Gertrude A. “Trudy” Bicknell, age 76, of Shelton passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on March 22, 2025.  She was born in Portland, Maine, the daughter of the late Simeon and Ann Robinson Aronson.  Trudy is survived by her daughter Robyn Bicknell, her “favorite” son Shaun Rolstone and his wife Sam, her granddaughter Jeannette Bouvier, her sister Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Wells, and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Trudy is also predeceased by her brother David Aronson.  


Prior to her retirement, Trudy was a teacher, specializing in Speech & Language Pathology for the Trumbull Board of Education for over 35 years.  She was a woman of faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church.


Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday evening, April 4th, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at 10:00am in the First United Methodist Church, Shelton, please meet directly at church.

Trudy has been a dear friend to me for more than 40 years. She was a kind and giving person bringing warmth and good nature with every visit. Trudy truly lived her faith and her friends and acquantances have been the beneficiaries. Warm thoughts of Trudy will always remain with me!
