TYFFANY CORTEZ

TYFFANY LYNNE (BARNETT) CORTEZ Tyffany, age, 36, was called home by Jesus on her birthday, May 2, 2012, at Hospice of San Diego, Chula Vista, CA, after a sudden battle with stomach cancer. Her family and friends were by her side. Tyffany was born at Loma Linda Medical Center and raised in Barstow. In 2000 she married and moved to Chula Vista to raise a family. Tyffany enjoyed her career as a supervisor at Red Lobster and she and her family loved participating at East Lake Church. Tyffany was attending college with hopes of becoming a healthcare professional. Some of Tyffany's greatest joys in life were trusting in God, loving her family, interacting with people, expressing an amazing sense of humor, and sharing her generous spirit. It is difficult to put into words the amazing light that Tyffany was, but those closest to her know that Tyffany's light will live in our hearts forever, until we see her again. We love you, Tyffany! Tyffany is survived by her husband Erick Cortez, daughter La Nae Barnett, sons Erick Jr and Derick J Cortez (Chula Vista); father and step-mother Kevin and Barbara Barnett (Barstow); mother Anne McNeil (San Bernardino); grandmother Moreen McNeil (Barstow); sisters Krystal Barnett (Barstow) and Allison Nelson (Apple Valley); brother Jesse Barnett (Barstow); uncle and aunt Dave and Irma McNeil (Barstow); mother-in-law Leticia Espinoza (Palm Springs); and many other wonderful family and friends. Tyffany was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Donald and Nellie Barnett (Missouri and Tehachapi respectively) and maternal grandfather Scotty McNeil (Riverside).
