On June 6, 1985, Jeff and Valerie Schmidt were blessed with a beautiful red-haired, blue-eyed boy. At an early age it became apparent that Tyler was slightly different from others, but he did his best to fit in. Throughout the years, he developed a love for baseball, writing, drawing, music...

Dear Jeff, Valerie & family.
There are no possible answers to why this terrible tragedy happend. Somehow I hope with family, friends and God's grace you will find a way to continue your life and eventually accept what is absolutley not acceptable.
God's blessing and eventual peace in your grief.

Dear Valerie,
Although we just met recently, my heart goes out to you and your family. The little verse here is one that I have lived by since I lost my own son 21 years ago. I hope you can feel comforted by the verse now and peace in your heart for the years ahead.
With love and God's blessing,

Dear Jeff, Valerie, Addie and Jonathan,
We are so sorry about the loss of Tyler. We are glad we were able to attend the service. It was a beautiful service that touched everyone there. It was easy to see that Tyler was very loved and appreciated by the tremendous show of support. We have great memories of Tyler and he will surely be missed. We wish you the best during this difficult time and please let us know if we can help in any way.
Take care and best of wishes,...

Dear Valerie, Jeff, Jonathan and Addie,
We were out of town and I just heard the news about Tyler. I'm so sorry. I remember how Tyler would come in the office and chat with me - what a sweetheart!
And, though I know that he (and the family) went through more than his fair share of troubles, I'll always remember him as that sweet kid.
Lindsey and I will keep him and the rest of your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Jeff, Valerie, Jon and Addie,
We've spoken several times over the past week so you know how I ache for you...I reminded you of the time you were in California and Tyler was able to meet Alice Cooper in our golf clubhouse as Alice was playing in a pro-am here. Tyler was so thrilled that Alice was so kind to him and he was able to share with him about how Jeff had taken him to see a concert a few years before. The look of excitement on his face will stay with me forever.
Please...
