Not sure what to say?

8 years late: I just wanted to google him because of some questions about life in California. As mentioned above, he was a great inspiration, also for me and triathlon at Universität Kaiserslautern: it always motivated me to swim in the same pool with someone who could keep up with Jürgen Zäck. His dedication to the sport was just beyond anything I’ve seen. RIP Udo

My condolences to the whole family, a recent TUV building constructed in Rancho Bernardo has brought me to search for Udo. I was a teammate and friend to Udo while taking classes at University of Phoenix, also receiving an MBA. Coincidently while taking classes together Udo, while at TUV, was working on the Euro Hawk product with my company Northrop Grumman. Udo, always charismatic with a positive attitude. I thank you for you friendship.

Udo, it was so sudden and so tragic. I was waiting for your call that day... and thought, it's not Udo's style to be late ! Indeed you were so professionnal, so nice, so helpful. We miss you so much.

Liebe Antje,

Udo my friend, I ran the RSF loop a few days ago and so vividly recalled doing that with you. Whether it was golf course loops, Hawaii, racing locally, Fire Road or just bumping into you on the coast - you smiled your way through all of it and never failed to entertain me with your wicked dry humor.

You left a void in the hearts of so many people whose lives you touched in so many wonderful ways. Even in your passing, your gift to all is to make us hold our loved ones that much...

Antje - my condolences to you and your family. I still feel a pain in my heart for your loss. And the loss felt by our community and friends. Udo was such a fun person and kicked butt on the bike. His love and support of you is true and pure. Kevin and I will miss him but continue to have him in our prayers and thoughts.

Antje,
Know that all of us who knew Udo, stand ready to help you and the family in any way we can.

Rhodel and the Ranchos

When I look at Udo's photos, I think of all the men in our neighborhood. All the good guys who love their families, work hard and set an example to stay happy and healthy. Udo's passing hit hard as it could have been any one of our husbands. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you Antje, Jan and Mia. Udo's bright smile is truly missed. With love, Hong Van & Jason

Antje, Mia and Jan, we are so incredibly sorry for the loss of your husband and father. We know Udo was an amazing person and know even more about his life through this beautifully written obituary and other memorials we have read online. We will always cherish the memories of fun times spent getting to know Udo years ago and we are incredibly sad that it had been so long since we had seen each other. He will always be remembered and has a special place in our hearts as well as your family....
