Read MoreUlrich and I were school mates and jazz lovers at Emmendingen, our hometown in southern Germany. I remember us watching Satchmo's LP records. That time he played trombone in the town band/orchestra, I played the guitar (until now).

Ulrich was one of my favorite bosses ever. He was warm and intelligent and helped us out during a difficult transition during my wife's pregnancy. We are moving to Germany soon and I will have to go see his home town. He will be missed.
