Read MoreI just read in Dermatology World about Dr. Rhoades passing last October. I met him at the mid-week Duke Grand Rounds and would talk to him each time I went. He rarely missed Duke Grand Rounds. Indeed he was friendly and talkative to anyone. I enjoyed many conversations with him. What a great person he was and this is a huge loss to anyone who knew him. My condolences to the family.

My wonderful Uncle Vade was a real treasure.
My sister and I, and all our cousins, were incredibly lucky to have such a caring and unique individual in our lives for so long.
His quick wit, his smile and his humor will never leave my memories.
My childhood is full of Uncle Vade stories, from the first time he brought his bride to be to our home to "meet the family" until our last time together recently for a Sunday lunch at my home in Raleigh.
