He was a dear friend as we worked together at USU both in university work and Church work.

Growing up with Ruth and Val's Children I got to see them in action at home, in church, and at the University. In each aspect of life the gospel shown through as examples of how to live and balance our responsibilities. Val's door was always open at the student center encouraging and motivating the young at critical times in there lives. He ministered to them one on one as the Savior did. A few years ago my brother and I ran into him at the conference center and shared some joyful and...

Dear Ruth Ann and family, I was so terribly saddened by the death of dear Val. We became such good friends while serving together in the Seventy. He was a man whose goodness had a large impact on my life. Perhaps he has already visited with my dear wife, Bonnie who passed away last June. God bless you all, Elder F. Melvin Hammond

Thank you Christensen Family. I am so sorry for your loss of Val. What a beautiful service today. I am so thankful I was able to attend. I was filled with so many wonderful memories of Val. He impacted me as my Stake President during my youth, and then at USU. He helped me be a better leader, student and disciple of Christ. He definitely added "val-ue" to those years and provided with direction and skills that have blessed me ever since. Thank you!!!

I have sat at the feet of this great man and his sweet wife and been taught so many great lessons as a missionary! My life has been better for this wonderful association that brings a smile upon my face, and thoughts of good memories. We could fill the USU spectrum with cheering people who´s lives were blessed from his influence and association! May God bless you now dear family and friends to know that God lives and He has a plan for each of us and that through Jesus Christ we all might...

Val Christensen came to Skyline HS in 1967 serving in his High School Relations position at USU. My twin sister, Rosemary Wixom, and myself attended his presentation. We were sold on USU. Some 25 years later, when I took my daughter to USU to begin as a freshman, Val spoke to the parents and students. He promised the parents that if their child was struggling in any way, we could contact him and within 1 hour he would get back with us to report on our child's wellbeing. My love for USU...

He was truly a great man. Loved being associated with him while at Utah State as an employee. Blessings to his family.
